To apply for the Assistant Commandant position, you must meet these primary requirements:
Nationality: Must be a citizen of India.
Age Limit (as of 1 August 2026): 20 to 25 years. Candidates must be born between 2nd Aug. 2001 and 1st Aug. 2006.
Educational Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognised university. Final-year students are also eligible to apply provisionally.
Physical Standards: Specific height (165 cm for males, 157 cm for females) and weight requirements apply.
Selection Process
The recruitment involves a multi-stage selection process designed to test both mental and physical aptitude:
Written Exam (19 July 2026): Consists of Paper I (General Ability & Intelligence) and Paper II (General Studies, Essay, and Comprehension).
Physical Standards/Efficiency Tests (PET/PST): Includes 100m and 800m races, long jump, and shot put (for males).
Medical Standards Test: A comprehensive health check-up.
Interview/Personality Test: Conducted by UPSC, carrying 150 marks.
